Went with my family for a movie last night, the movie that tempt everyone into watching because of jay chou, gong li and chou ren fa.
The show lasted for two and a half hour. The begining was nice but towards the end it could be better if there wasnt so much blood and killing.
Sorry for being a critic here, i guess TMDC and the other modules helped very much in molding us to be media critics =D

I'd give Curse of The Golden Flower a two and a half stars rating out of 5 stars.
Its not that lousy, its just the plot that gotten some people go "ugrh! why?"

The begining of the show, showed of palace maids waking up in the early morning to get dress, following systematically in beat given to them. All dressed in low cuts with their boobs fully pushed up. what is the director trying to portray? too much of such just doesnt turn me on, in fact i feel disgusted cause the fact that some doesnt have any but they tried squeezing them tightly, while others are full and when they put on the costumes it looks as if its gonna burst anytime.
whenever you hear the palace eunach clinging a clang, you'll know its time for gong li (empress) to have her medication. And the chant of the eunach is really irritating.
Most would have mistaken that the empress had an affair with the 2nd son(jay chou) but its the first son, not of her own.
The 3rd son through out the entire show wasnt given much of an attention by all in the royal family, but he knows of every single bit, from the mother's affair to the plan she have on chrysanthemum festival. He's always seen staring to his mum in fury.
All were alright till the end when its the eve of the chrysanthemum festival, where all the horror takes place.
The eldest son got killed by the youngest, of greed to successed the throne, thinking he should be the one because he was the only son that had much knowledge and was the only innocent child. Ending up only to get wacked hard by the father's belt like the old traditional way of disciplining the child, the only difference is he got wack till he died, for killing the emperor's favourite son.
Jay led a army that has the mother's chrysanthemum sewing on to rebel against the emperor, despite all the crushing and millions of arrow shooting he escape death. its that even possible, though the message was passed down not to hurt him, but logically thinking its impossible not to miss a single arrow.
In the end Jay killed himself for failing his mother's plan and not wanting to betray her. And the whole story end with 3 potential heir to the throne dying, left us hanging to think what will happen to gong li,did she kill herself too? when the movie wraps up with her flinging the cup of medicine away. what an ending..

I din wanna go into detail to the show, catch it if u want but when the movie tix are at its lowest price, or better still buy the dvd or vcd when its out.
